"We must destroy them all!" I screamed and together we charged the air, I executed a few beautiful spinning attacks that beheaded countless orcs, and Dylan appeared to be using an invisibility spell to sneak up behind orcs and break their necks or stab them with the stick he was using as a dagger.
"Midnight! Cast an invincibility spell on me and I will charge the gate, follow me closely."
"It won't last long, and we may need it once we get inside."
"I don't need long, cast the spell, midnight, it won't do us any good inside if we can't get inside!"
"Protect me while I cast it." Dylan yelled. I assumed a defensive position in front of him and cut down one foe after another. Dylan put his hands in a prayer position and began chanting gibberish words of power, after a moment he stopped and looked up his eyes rolled a little way back in his head and he put his hands on my shoulders and spoke.
"Your flesh is steel. Your skin is your armor. The power within you is immortal." He then looked normal, and tried to act a little tired after the drain of casting the spell.
"Hurry." He whispered.
I charged forward screaming, not bothering to fend against phantom blows, for now they could not hurt me, as we neared the end of the lawn that was our destination Dylan, who was keeping close behind me yelled, "The spell is fading, hurry, Blade, you only have ten seconds." Dylan counted down behind me to keep me aware of my failing power, and I redoubled my effort, just as Dylan said, "One." We reached the gate and disappeared into a side door, barring it behind us.
"That was close." I said. It was always close. We turned and prepared to charge our way up the hallway. "There are four main chambers before the throne room. There will probably be a powerful monster guarding each." I informed Dylan.
"And we must kill the Demon before sundown, otherwise his power will be unbeatable and we will not live out the night." Dylan warned me.
